ABOUT REMO PICTOU COUNTY
REMO PC stands for Regional Emergency Management Organization Pictou County. This agency coordinates emergency management work in the six municipal units of Pictou County: preventing or mitigating hazards and risks, preparing for hazards that can’t be prevented, responding when an emergency happens, and recovering afterward.
REMO PC works with first response agencies like fire and police departments, critical infrastructure partners like Nova Scotia Health and Nova Scotia Power, volunteer groups like Ground Search & Rescue and local comfort centres, and local residents. We bring everyone together before, during, and after an emergency to make communities safer.
We all have a responsibility to be as prepared as possible for hazards. This website contains basic preparedness tips for all hazards, and information about preparing for and responding to some of the common hazards in Pictou County.
